Magic: The Gathering (MTG) is widely known as the TCG to start it all, and is more focused on play rather than collectability, with a massive competitive/tournament scene. MTG has also been successful tapping into the collector scene by introducing collector booster packs, which often contain exclusive foil pattern, showcase cards, and serialized cards in some sets.
